Think i have hit the jackpot with this thread plent to look into. Anyone run the hornady 325g fxt i think it is for a hunting round?

I use the 325gr FTX, great round. Push them out with 50gr of 2207 and believe me when I say , they really knock the cobwebs out when you touch one off.

It should be noted, with FTX rounds , you need slightly shorter brass. It's around 1-2mm. Otherwise they won't feed properly through a lever gun.
You also need a special bullet seater so you don't squash the soft tips (available as a stand alone part from Hornady)

I just bought a couple packets of Leverlution rounds with the brass already trimmed and reload that. They do fly a little flatter than standard hollow points.

Sorry that's only 50m. With the factory open sights which I can't see very well.
I actually believe the cast lead will shoot better but I didn't have a clear aiming point. The factory stuff I aimed at the other bullet holes

You should throw a scope on her for load development

I cast 325 gn hollow points from a noe mold. Gas checked I get over 2000 fps. More than enough. I have used up to 500 gn gas checked at 1800fps but it was very savage in a ruger no.3 carbine.
