How many rounds before a press wears out?

I'm sure it's squillions, just wondering.

Anyone taken a press to dead from wear?

Eventually I guess there is a bit of wear and the rods/arms don't move perfectly straight any more?

Assuming it is maintained and lubed, well past the time you are pushing up daisies. I would hazard a guess in the 100's of 1000's

It would be far more rounds than any individual could use in a lifetime, and probably most clubs as well.
Somebody loading professionally six days a week might wear one out.
But the dollar cost is minute compared to the value of the ammunition turned out - I wouldn't even worry about it. Even if a $100 press only turned out 10,000rds you're still thousands of dollars in front.
Dies can "wear out" if they're not looked after, mainly from corrosion or pitting.

I would put an estimate at about a gazillion rounds.

Look after any decent press and it will definitely outlast you.

My home made press has sized down thousands of cast bullets and upset hundreds of .58 Minnie's as well as loaded many thousands more cartridges in the four years since I built it. Keep them lubed and try not to use them as an arbour press and they'll go for ever.
There's still a few of Wile. E Coyote's ideas that I haven't tried yet.

Feels like that when you get a case stuck while sizing and try to push through

I've got thousands through mine and you could put the press back in the box and no one would know it's used.

They last.
