Hi , all picked up some 22lr ammo from the local GS , normal ask for couple boxes of winchester subs , he said try the new CCI low noise, ok gave them a go and , Great very quiet ,speed is 750fps ,at 25 to 30 mtrs hitting what I aiming at, My question is has any one been to the range and experiment with them at longer rangers, price was quite good to, ok thanks ..............

I've shot CCI Quiet 710fps out to 180m when testing penetration on corrugated steel sheeting. I have grouped them out to 100m where ten rounds grouped around 150mm out on my RAR Target. CCI Subsonic Segmented HP and Eley Subsonic HP were much better holding around 60mm at 100m.

Barrel length rarely affects accuracy.
My RAR Compact and Target are both 18" as that's all a .22LR needs to build up steam.

I tested the accuracy out to 50 metres with both my CZs. Accuracy wise they were fine. But wouldn't be my go too hunting round. I also tried the Winchester Z's which are similar to the Quiets. Didn't like the Winchester much accuracy wasn't as good as the CCI and both my CZ's didn't feed them very well. Had a couple of jams. Never experienced that with any other round in either of my CZ 22s

I hada box of CCI quiet 710fps, didn't go to the range with them but geez they really dropped fast after about 50m, bullet drop is too dramatic for reliable hunting beyond 50m imo.

your individual rifle will tell you what it likes by group size, its up to you to try
I use cci subs in one of my 22's, very accurate out to 75 yards but my shots are usually only to 50 yards
another 22 I have will only shoot cci stingers

I've used long z ammo a lot at work. I know its not the same but its close. Killed lots of rabbits, starlings, and pigeons, and a fox and a couple of hares.
Sighted in a 25m they drop about 2" by 40m but they'll still kill at that range
