Where to source FMJ projectiles

Post by goldiexxxx » 04 Nov 2017, 6:21 am

Gday All,

I'm hoping I can get some options for purchasing FMJ projectiles.
I have an FN manufactured Israeli Mauser obviously in 7.62 NATO and I was lucky to pick up 600 projectiles from my LGS to use in this rifle. These were 144gr pulled F4 Ball ammo and I worked a load up to replicate F4 / M80 NATO ammo. The rifle eats these like lollies, and so do my other two Rugers with 44gr of AR2208 behind them.
So now I'm running short and would like to know where I can get more of these or maybe some 147gr FMJ. My LGS doesn't stock any FMJs, just Optimus 155gr Match projectiles.
All help will be greatly appreciated.

Cheers.

Rebel Gun Works in Queensland is all about this kind of stuff I think?

Regularly see their adds for all things old/classic/collectable etc.

Ammo included.

Try them.

G'day goldiexxxx,
You WERE lucky to get the 144g pills, they are highly desirable and bloody hard to find. Every so often you may stumble across some, then you buy all you can find. For now, buy the Optimus 155g, they are truly 1st class and used by most of the top echelon Target Rifle shooters in Australia, with the bonus of being very competitive in the price and always available. I use them in all my target 7.62's as well as several old military rifles including my Israeli, Cheers.

Why the hankering for FMJ projectiles? The Optimus and Dyers both have a great following and the Dyers well used for hunting as well. The Bergers would have to be the new fad overtaking Sierra. None of them make up for experience.

I shoot these - they’re my step up from lead. Bloody accurate inside 300, and you can drive em hard - good for the chickens pigs and turkeys. Not to mention cheap. Smancy $$$ pills for rams / long range sh!ts&giggles.
