Reloading for Sporting Clays

Post by Heimdahll » 12 Nov 2017, 12:57 am

Hi All,

I've been reading some older posts in this forum from 2014. People were noting then that trap/skeet/sporting loads were cheaper priced from factory than reloading your own. I'm curious if this is still the case or if my costings are just way off the mark. My wife and I are looking to do get deeper into the sport and are trying to be as efficient with our dollars as possible.

To the best of my knowledge it doesnt get cost effective unless you use recycled shot, or make your own.

I think it's in the US where supplies and much cheaper that reloading for clays is economical.

I only ever see people shooting factory ammunition.
Dear Santa,
Please bring me a Desert Tactical Arms SRS-A1 Rifle in .338 Lapua Magnum.
I'll be good with it, I promise!

Check out YouTube for the drippers.

There are some awesome home made ones that pump it out.

Ok so here it is. It’s either like 5% cheaper or the same as the expensive shells and 5% more then cheap shells. I am a reloader of shotgun but I only do size 6,4,2,BB and N4 buckshot. Also for Gauges other then 12 it is very economical. Use shells that pattern best in your gun.
