Steel pins

Hi got a dumb question, my mate told me I can’t use steel pins in a vibrating tumbler be causes pins will wear out the plastic bowl, True / False ..Thanks

Steel pins are for use in wet tumbling in rotary tumblers. The amount of media ( pins ) and water required would be too heavy for a normal vibratory tumbler.
Also brass is a lot lighter than the steel pins and will tend to "float" around on top rather than tumble through the media as they do in walnut / corn-cob.
By all means try it if you want, but I bet you'll be disappointed with the outcome.

Ok thanks for the information, might look at a wet tumbler , or have a crack at making one , dry tumbling good for my once fired stuff , but range brass , and all the other brass I get given, not a hope , like shiny
