Burris XTR II rifle scopes

Post by feedr » 23 Feb 2014, 2:31 pm

Hi all,

Anyone got their hands on one of the new Burris XTR II scopes yet?

Thinking about one for a bench scope, probably the 5-25x50 or the 8-40x50 model.

Any feedback appreciated.

I've read some reviews and they're getting a good wrap for quality. Price is a bit of a sticking point for people though, they're not cheap scopes.

Yup, not cheap.

$1,800 for either of those options.

Ouch $1,800.

Gotta say that's more than I'd pay for one. Plenty of scopes cheaper than that and sure to be just as good.

Can't say I really associate Burris with an $1,800 scope.

I'd be looking at others for that much money.

To be fair I've only ever briefly used low-end Burris stuff, so it's not really fair to compare to the higher end scope brands.

I expect though that this is Burris's effort to break into the higher tier market.

I think I read that these are actually Steiner scopes too, but branded and marketed by Burris?
