Thermal monoculars - any experience?

Post by Paul » 22 Dec 2022, 8:20 pm

Hi folks,
Been looking at thermal mono's to kick off my foray into the world of thermal imaging.

Does anyone have experience with either the PARD TA 32-19 or TA 32-25?

OR

Conotech Tracer LRF 25Pro or Tracer LRF 35Pro?

Thanks in advance.

I have experience with my own infiray FL35R. I am very happy with it. I shoot on properties with large open paddocks. So I like the higher base magnification of my thermal. The narrower field of view isn’t a problem where I shoot. It has an excellent detection range. I mainly target foxes, and it’s very good at detecting them at long range. I also like the fact it has removable batteries. The two batteries itcomes with last for a long night of shooting. I happily recommend it.

I know nothing about the makes/models you specify.
However,,,, One bad experience I had was with a monocular that I bought when I myself was first entering the thermal world.
I can't remember the specific model,,,,,, but I purchased it on the Brand Name alone as they used to produce excellent products.

"FLIR"

Be wary, cos the one I bought was next to useless.
It couldn't pick up a freshly shot hare in the 6" tall grass from 15 feet away.
I do not fear death itself... Only its inopportune timing!
And,,,,It's been proven,,,,, the most trustworthy females in my entire life were all canines.
