Sightron Scopes?

Has anyone any experience with Sightron Scopes?

I was in the local gun store the other day and I noticed they had a couple of Sightron scopes. I have heard a few people talking about them, giving them a good wrap lately so I asked for a look.

There were two cheaper ones around $300-$450 and a tactical style scope for about $1000. I think the more expensive one might have been 6-24X 56 with a mil dot reticle. Although I was curious I did blow it off straight away when I noticed the budget price for a long range scope. Looking at it and through it (although only in the shop) I wasn't impressed and I felt the $1000 Vortex and the new budget Nightforce were a better deal.

So is there a magical top of the line model Sightron? Or are they rubbish and hardly comparable to other scopes in their price range? Am I being too harsh?

I've got a S3 fixed 32 power. For the money it's pretty good entry level scope for shooting at 1000m. Of course there's others that are better. But if your just starting out they make a good option.

I have the S3 8-32x56 and it's definitely a great scope. Is it better than others in the same price range, maybe. Is it magically better than no expensive other brands and models..... no.

I'd probably be happy with a Sightron, Leupold or a Vortex in that range. They are all top notch brands when you are up into their top range models.

That's quite a big magnification and to say your happy with it I guess you mean its has good definition at 32x?
What price range are we talking for that model ?

Good clarity and focus at 32. Better and more useable at 24 which is what I do if shooting at 100m. The eye relief for consistent head positioning is razor thin at 32 power so I wind it back unless I need it. Something to keep in mind. The S3 will set you back 850-900 USD for the mil dot reticle and mil turrets. Plenty of videos on YouTube for reviews. Check out Vortexs PST range too.

I have, and have used a couple of other sightrons and reckon for the cash you can't go wrong.

I couldn't say for long range shooting as I'm only shooting 200-300 metres normally, but for me they've been top.
