Help needed on O Light or similar

I am needing to go back to basics for a particular job.
ie: torch/flashlight, to be mounted on scope tube.
And, need advice regarding brands and models.

, I need a good white light, with adjustable beam width.

Will be shooting with either .22 lr or .17 hmr out to approx 50 - 70 meters.

What are the recommendations for a suitable unit ? (preferably 30mm torch body/tube)

Mate all the torches that are any good seem to be 25mm body.
This accepts most torch mounting systems.

Two I use that will reach as far as you can shoot with a centrefire, are pictured below.
All are 25mm body, so fit standard mounts and even, modified scope mount set-ups.

I know I recommend Cleavers a lot, but the Nitecore brand they sell is pretty much as cheap as you can get them and they send to your door in a few days.
Olight and Nitecore are equivalent I reckon in power for size and features.
Look up Nitecore on the search function at the online Cleavers site.
All come with batteries and USB-C charging cables.

First two are from left, the new and older Olight Javelot, insanely bright, very long beams, as long as you can get. But longer in the body and a bit heavier, because of the huge batteries inside.
The next ones are Nitecore.
The shorter ones, the P30 (the short one with the fat lens) has as much reach as the Olight Javelot, it's incredible.
The smallest one on the far right is the MH27, which I use on an autoloading 308 walking the crops. Even that will reach out as far as I can hold.

All those come in kits, in pelican type cases, with mounts, separate cable switches etc. I don't use all that stuff, I prefer to just use my left hand to thumb on the torches with the end-cap button, with the torch on the forend. Hence the extra mounts you see clamped to them.
Mounting them on the scope needs three arms, which I don't have.
All of these are awesome and I can't believe how incredibly bright they are. The new Javelot is actually has the reach of the big-name HID 10" shooting spotty on my ute.

Or, on a rimfire around house yards and shed, this one might be more useful?
It comes with an integral picatinny quick-mount, and has a green laser inside too, which you can turn off if you just want the torch. Or both at once, which is how I use it.

The laser is zero-able to your scope crosshairs via two tiny allen key points, windage and elevation. It keeps zero coming on/off too.
The torch is pretty bloody good, I can easily see a rabbit clearly at 100m plus, and the laser will actually go out past 300m. The laser dot at about 100m would be 1/2" or so?

While my recommendation breaks several of your specific "requirements", I've had good success with it on rabbits and foxes - both walking and from vehicle. OLight Warrior X Turbo. The kit/bundle is now discontinued, but it looks like the individual torch is still available. Generally superseded by a "X 4" variant, though I can't vouch for the performance of the "X 4" variant.

Warrior X Turbo specs/opinion:
- 25mm tube.
- Beam width is not adjustable. Has excellent pencil-beam illumination beyond 200m, and enough side spill to pick up fox eyes in the peripheral while scanning.
- I use the magnetic barrel mount which came in the kit. (X-WM03, available separately) Holds really well on .223 recoil. The mount has tilt adjustment so you can align it to your scope image. I'm not attempting F-class shooting, but I've not seen any change with impact location. Still minute of rabbit vitals.

It kinda meets the "back to basics" in that it has low and high brightness, and no tacticool strobe mode. Single pushbutton at the rear. Quick half-press = low, quick full-press = high. Press either depth for > 1 sec and it will illuminate until you release the button, then turn off.

On low mode I can do many hours of walking for rabbits without needing to recharge. In vehicle I can whip it off the barrel, crest a hill and scan a 400m+ paddock on high to pick up fox eyes, turn off the vehicle -> put torch back on barrel -> whistle them in on low. Get maybe 3 hours out of it in the high/low usage.

Hope that's of some use in your deliberations. My mate bought one (on their periodic 30% sale) after trying mine. I have no financial interest in OLight - it just works really well.

Yeah thanks heaps "Some-one else" for that recomendation and user report, much appreciated.
I have just bought one of the those that Wapiti put up.
The Nitecore MH27 (just gotta wait on delivery now.

I chose that one due to its smaller physical dimensions, and although not as "potent" as its bigger brother, it should do the job well.
I only really need it for one problem fox that also frequents in a problem area, although once I've got it, I'll probably use it more often.

You might note in my pic above, that I have clamp-type mounts on my torches.
That's because I like to clamp them to a pic-rail block, I prefer one on the forend of my rifles, or a clamp-type pic mount that sits flush on the scope, until you wish to put a torch up there.
The one that comes with most torched, with the big thumb-type wingnut is awful.

Also, when mounted to the forend just in front of your support hand, you can just use your thumb to turn it on or off, without having to reach up to the scope and take the gun off target and out of shooting position.
You know what skittish foxes are like... don't give you much time from when the light hits 'em to when they bolt.

These days there is no need for big bulky lights, especially if shooting out to 50-70 meters.

Olight just sent me an Odin weapon light for review so once I get into my range I'll be working on that for Youtube. These work out to 300 meters and fit on a piece of Picatinny rail.

I did a video on their new PL X light last month. It's really meant for pistols but was impressed I could see clearly out to 100 meters easy and could flick between spotlight and floodlight with a flick of the switch.
