bigfellascott wrote:The Hawkes do look like a nice scope alright - I’m not real fussed on the reticle options but there was one or two I could live with I guess. I don’t like fine xhairs as a rule on a hunting outfit.

Hateful to pay considerable $ and then kick yourself every time you use it.
bigfellascott wrote:Yeah I like simple mate, can't stand all that clutter when I'm looking through a scope (I know they have a purpose) just nothing I've got a use for to be honest, I do like the some of the illuminated dot offerings out there but so far managed without them so will continue to do so at this stage.
MUZZ wrote:Probably too late now, but I have a Leupold 3Xi 4.5x14x50 on my 223 and I love it. I have Redfield and Japanese TASCO on my rimfire rifles and they are OK but the Leupold is a big step above for glass clarity and simple but crisp reticle. Cost is around the $1000 mark but a good scope is something you should be able to have for a long long time without needing to replace it. This scope is also VERY GOOD at night when spotlighting.
I bought a Bushnell and sold it within a year, the reticle was so thick it seemed to block the critical part of what I was trying to shoot.
NOIA TV did a comparison between 4 scopes to see how they performed in low light - because sometimes ur out there at the crack of dawn or late into the day. Leupold and Meopta came out best out of the 4. Swarovski and Zeiss didn't fair so well....

I'm looking at putting a 3.5-10X44 on my T1X when I get it. Having said that I still plan on looking through some scopes when I'm down at the store and seeing what tickles my fancy.

I just bought a meopro 6-18x50 from Tamworth firearms, haven't mounted it yet, but it certainly looks good. It's going on a Howa varmint .223

I have the exact scope on my 6.5 Manbun. It is a great bit of kit. You won’t regret the purchase mate.
