Looking to scope a 357 mag 1892 lever action which currently wears weaver rail and red dot. Its obviously mounted a little further forward than bolt actions to clear the ejection port. Any economical suggestions?

I use an NCStar 2-7x32mm scout scope for load development on rifles that are difficult to scope. I don't think it was outrageously expensive when I got it four years ago, maybe $250 or so.

I run the vortex scout scope on my ruger scout. Good little unit with the mag range from 2-7x and I payed about $230 for it.

I've knocked it around a bit and it honestly surprised at its strength and clarity for the price.
