I have one, but I wouldn't say I use it for anything.

Why did you buy it then if you don't use it?

To see if it was of any use, I decided it was not, but it is interesting.

you need to wear a balaclava with them as your face glows with this type thing
l have seen a bloke use it successfully but the glow and blinding he got from it turned me off a bit

Intended use was as expected, taking foxes in the dark without requiring a light.
The issue is that it blinds you with glare so if you need to move around you need a light anyway, and in darkness there is no orientation to know where the horizon is so I can't find foxes by panning it around except by pure luck, and there is no way of knowing what is in the background of your target. Basically, swing a light around to spot the foxes, then kill the light and switch to NV once you know where they are. If you set a bait to attract them so you only need to watch a specific place then it'd probably be fine, but no better than hanging a white light over the bait. I also got a much bigger illuminator for it that cost more than the camera kit did, so it's interesting to be able to see in the dark, just totally impractical for shooting in the dark, for me at least.

Getting opinions from forums will never tell you whether it'll work for you so do what I did, buy it and try it yourself, then you'll know. Or at least borrow some NV gear first and try that out. I have several NV monoculars as well, and the old Call of Duty NV Goggles from years ago - they were my first NV experience :-)

The latest CoD has a new unit that should be way better than the original.

Cheers for that Blade, I've used a mates NV gear and I had the same issues it tended to leave me blinded almost for a good min or so and finding things with the little screen it had wasn't what I'd call good, he on the other hand find it to work fine for him, me I'd rather just stick with the good ol Spotlight TBH.

Cheers mate

How long would all that stuff hanging off the scope last under recoil?

You're probably mounting such a thing on a varmint rifle so I can't see it being a problem.
The camera would be better mounted on a pic rail separated from the scope, The screws around the ocular mean it doesn't sit in precisely the same position every time you mount it. A mount reaching back to a pic rail on the top or side of the scope would be more secure. Also, using a 90-degree viewer between the camera and ocular would allow you to still see through the scope so you could use the rifle without having to remove the camera.
