I’m on 5 acres BLR so I can use a .22 at home...on a windy night with quiets. My main shooting property of 300+ hectares is accessed by boom gate only, is 11 mins away by road and is also registered as a business - so yes, I could legally go there but I’ve been trying to do the right thing...So when turns up, I’ll try at home first on some rabbits / hares. :-)

Lucky u. It’s nice to be at least able to practice and familiarise yourself with new equipment in a real life true bush situation ..... whenever us city slickers get a new scope it’s a nightmare to find somewhere dark enough to test it ... and if we walk around in the dark with a scope everyone thinks we are weird and trying to look into their bedroom

I know how lucky I am blr, truly blessed to be in the situation I am and I try and share what I can as a result. I’ve had 3 ppl stay at my cabin from seeing my posts on here a while back and I’ve written quite a few letters for ppls firearm use.
A guy from my work called me up a few nights ago - note, we haven’t spoken previously and he has now been there 18 months - he lives in suburbs and bought his first centre fire 308 about 5 months ago. He hasn’t been able to put a shot down it yet, so pleaded with me to take him bush ASAP. He said he paid $100 for 40 cartridges and was really tight for $ But he’d pay a donation - just to go up there.
I then asked another friend to join us on the day in question and to bring all his spare reloading gear that might suit 308 and I bought a cheap press, dies, etc and between us - instead of receiving, we will be doing the giving...such is being thankful, for being in the position I / my friend is in.

A little while ago MM sorted and sent me some 60+ 300wm cases - just because and I was floored. These were not just fired cases - they were prepped to perfection! I thought then, the shooting community in general, is pretty bloody decent and I have been paying it forward. Hopefully, it continues and we all benefit.

Just wanted to reiterate MM’s comments re Neil (aka RATPAK) and spectra tactical. After my issues with QLD Brisbane shop taking $$$ under...I wont say false pretensions, but it wasn’t smart business on their part - it was an absolute breath of fresh air to receive a call from Neil this afternoon confirming post and tracking no, talking me through options, Setting up the NV, etc - and just talking to someone who knows and clearly uses their product.
I’ can’t wait to receive and play and will definitely be using ST again in the future. Thanks Neil.

My pleasure Tassie, as I said, happy to answer any questions if you need to ask.
I actually do use the pard gear a lot, from 007 to 008 lrf and now the sa35 thermal.
We have ordered more stock but been told it is 4 weeks away due to some virus?
Anyway...its on the way....thermals by order with deposit only.
When this covid 19 thing is relaxed we will be doing night time demo sessions again.

So I’ve had the pard now for a few nights and can reiterate what others have said - pretty bloody amazing.
I didn’t know I had so much wildlife creeping around my property - at 5.00am this morning I counted some 13 rabbits.
If I had of gone out with the LED torch, like I normally do, I would have seen maybe 3-5.

I’ve fitted to a cheap 3-9 scope at present that’s not mounted - just to get more familiar with it. It can be a little difficult to focus quickly - but that is probably me.
I think I’ll mount it on my .22 first up so I can become more familiar - I might even set up some night targets to help.
I tell you one thing - after staring into the darkness for a while with the infra, when you take it away - it takes me quite a few seconds to get my bearings...understandable I guess as your going night - quite bright via pard - then night...

Regardless, so far - I’m very impressed. Rabbits that thought they were safe? Haha...

Glad to hear you're happy with it, we have new stock ordered and should be here in 2 weeks or so.
Unfortunately the Aussie dollar has taken a beating and they now tell us the shipping costs have risen by 50%, translated, our prices will have to rise slightly.
At maximum, a 10 percent rise, will see if we can keep it lower than that, fingers crossed!
We have pard 007's, 008's 008lrf's and 019 spotters coming in as well as a few preordered thermal scopes too like the sa35.
Heres a little video my business partner Paul did last night comparing a Yukon Photon RT to the pard 008, fast forward past the scales comparison and check out the clarity of the image at night out to 190 meters, no tricks, just a direct comparison.
View it in high definition for best results...

a scope l would recommend so far for the nv007 is the bushnell ar, 4.5x18
l've put it on a 22 rimfire for around 50y, yea the reticle is pretty fat but it will do for the 22
l did not have to use anything on the end of the stock with this scope to get the right eye relief

Hi all pard007 owners.

Thought id just share an experience recently.

I missed two foxes last week and to my surprise didnt even clip them .

one was at 90 m and the other was at about 170m .

The last straw was when i missed a roo that i was ask to shoot by a farmer to thin numbers out .

Went to the range and shot a few shots with out the clip on at 50 m ,straight on the bulls.

put the clip on on and shot 4 inches to the left, couldn't believe it .

No wonder i was missing every thing .

the insulating tape moved a bit and the adaptor must have moved to .

so heads up to who ever has a pard007 just keep an eye on it and maybe retape every so often .

i would like to get a plastic sleave and do away with the tape but it hard to find some thing thats in between 43.6mm to 45 mm.

any suggestions .

cheers tilb

Imagine finding a piece of aluminium pipe or pvc pipe where the internal and external dimensions are similar to what u seek. Then cut out a small section of that pipe so that it’s no longer a full circle. It’s now a c rather than an o. So that little open space effectively offers some fine adjustment ..Or 95 per cent of a circle rather than a full circle. If I was not so busy with work I could duck downstairs and turn something up on the lathe Alum is easy to work with. That’s all I can come up with at the moment

Not sure how it matters Re the pard attachment Ring being loose...the scope and cross hairs haven’t moved, just the night vision aspect - which doesn’t impede point of Impact, scope mount, cross hairs, etc.

I'm on the lookout for such bit of pipe.
If I had machining skills I would attempt it.
Tassie
I thought the same thing about it wouldn't make a difference as long as you could see the crosshairs.
But why is there a retical position alinement in the menu ?

Tilb004
what l used was a slice of plastic ring from the @rse of a calking gun tube
still use a layer of tape but it is a nice snug fit

and try centering the reticle in the pard menu, not sure if that will make a difference to it not being on target
it may need a factory reset :unknown:

I think? The centre of recital alignment is kind cv of like a parr’s lax adjuster - to centre your eye, pard, scope cross hairs so you get a basic alignment ? Rat pack might chime in.

Mm have you found a Low powered scope that clamps in without any 3rd device like tape, pvc semi, etc? Going to try a few vortex units today.

I had a 223 Bdc bushbell AR - but I had to sell it. Drove me mad - but that was on centre’s not rims.
Also - is it my eyes? or after 5-10 mins, when you look away from using the Pard, I’m Fuggen blind for a few minutes...like dazzled. I know the pard brightens up night so pupils open but hell...wasn’t expecting the amount of dazzle. I think it’s worse because it’s monocular and one eye is functional and one is going wtf lol.

Finally found a decent scooe to run mine on, a bushnell ar22 2-7×36. Hopefully pick it up soon. More than enough magnification especially considering my pard nv007 is a 16mm lense and therefore is already running 1.5x magnification BEFORE attaching to the scope

the optisan and vortex fit with the 45mm connecter and one slice of tape Tassie
the 42mm connecter will fit the bushnell ar
pete is right you dont need the extra power range especially when using the pard

I took my Pard 007 out for a gallop last night. I managed to nab a couple of foxes using it. I am very happy with it. I accept its limitations over the 008. My mate who I went out with said its weird watching the Pard being used because it was a jet black night and he clearly couldnt see a damn thing. My scope has a front parallax adjustment so is a bit fiddly to use with the Pard. The only bummer was I had my Icotec caller going and could clearly see a fox coming into it. the bummer being I forgot to put a round up the spout. By the time I sorted that the fox legged it realising something just wasnt right about the situation. Not the Pards fault that one.

l just finished up for the night and thought l'd better put up a pic of the bushnell ar in action

Image

and then

Image

this is at 80 paces set on 4.5 power

Image

this one is at 45 paces set on 4.5 power not as clear but l did not adjust for it so the same setting as the 80 paces shot
l have not had this much fun for years, l would recommend the bushnell ar scopes for the pard anyday
l ended up with more than l could carry and shot around 60 shots for the night, a few misses as shooting mainly off the shoulder and using a 22 rimfire but l would spend the money on the pard and bushnell combo again :drinks:
this has the 42 mm connector and is a good snug fit

l'd like to add that l was walking around spotting the rabbits at distance with an olight using the green filter then walking up to them doing a Blr with a red head lamp and when l thought l could shoot them turn off the head lamp and use the pard, l would have done a lot better shooting with shooting sticks
l got around 3 hours of battery life but the battery was down when l called it a day, the sleep mode is brilliant
once you set the pard the only adjustment is the focus/parallax on the scope, l did not adjust it as it was very clear for me, clearer than the photos are showing
l shot 4 at one time when these rabbits just sat wondering where the noise was coming from, its sort of like cheating
some rabbits just moved away no more than 20 meters, anyway it was a lot of fun and although the bushnell has an awfully thick reticle for the 22 on rabbits it worked, very happy with the setup :drinks:

what scopes has worked for some of you other guys :unknown:
