6.5 Grendel new scope

Post by Shootermick » 11 Feb 2020, 7:51 pm

I’m after suggestions for a new scope for my Howa mini action in 6.5 Grendel. Funds were tight when I purchased it and I mounted an old used scope I had, but it’s time to upgrade. I’d like to keep cost below about $900 max, and have 1” rings, so I’d like to keep them too. Cheers.

Mate I like either Meopta or Leupold scopes. I have a 6-18x50 Meopta Meopro on my 6.5CM.

Mainly hunting, no target or range work. I think you had a Meopta 4-12x50 on your Grendel didn’t you Bill? I’m tossing up between one of those or the Meopta 6-18x50. I’ve got the 6-18 on my 223 and it’s a great scope, I would like that magnification, but it might be getting a bit bulky for the top of the mini action.

Yeah 4 to 12 Meopta but for hunting 3 - 9 or 3.5 - 10 would also be perfect in low talley lightweight rings

Meopta now have their new Optika line in the shops, so now have a larger range of scopes than the Meopro from what I saw. Quite a good range now. Magnum Sports have a big list of them for sale.

Ended up going with a new Zerotech Vengeance 4.5-18x40. At only $349 it’s definitely on the cheap side, but they’re getting pretty good reviews so I’ll see how it goes.
