Mounting 1" scope on old Ruger MK2 22LR

Hi All,
Is there a way to mount a scope on a Ruger MK2 22LR without drilling and tapping? I would normally mount a pic rail on via screws but I dont want to drill the Ruger as it is a bit of an heirloom of sorts (it is older than me).
Thanks,
