The Swarovski is great due to its ease of use. But lesser priced scopes will have a red dot that works just as well, just without the features. Most I have seen are bright enough for daylight use (A Meopta Meopro wasn't), so you are only missing out on the Swaro's good operating controls.

I have looked at a Vortex and a GPO that my cousin bought, and the red dot works well on both. My Meopta Meostars also work well. You just need a bit more input from the shooter to operate them.
