For reasons or perhaps no reasons at all, the scope on Black Beauty was arranged as per the scope on my M70. That is, it was rotated clockwise from the usual orientation, with the windage adjustment becoming the elevation adjustment. It turned out that there was not enough range in the substitute elevation screw for me to even get on target. That, compounded with what I assume might be eye strain, made for a miserable day and I went home early.
Today, I righted the orientation of the scope and after boresighting on the most distant object I could sight at, I tried the method below....................

It is an awfully fiddly experience, juggling the Wheeler Scope Level, the picture through the scope and aligning the "target", in the bore. That is, same story as in the story 25/7/23 at 2:25 in this same forum, S,s and o.
Now I need to get to the range and the M70 will be coming too.
Then again, so will the blasted eye strain
