Tax time! - Money to spend on some new glass!

Hi all,

So tax time is here and I'm expecting a little over a grand. Time to get some new quality glass :D

I have a bottom end tasco something or other at the moment and it's not much good. Will be keeping this scope for long run so happy to spend about 1k for something solid.

Recommendations?

Forgot to mention, this is going on a Ruger Gunsite Scout.

Used for hunting, plinking, fun... 100 - 300 metres are my usual shooting distances.

I'd be interested in this too. I'm looking to start shooting shotguns mostly but a scoped .22 or something for fun would be good too if someone can give advice for this?

Everyone loves a good plink with a .22 :D

Hey Broom,

Personally I like the Bushnell high end stuff.

I have a Bushnell Elite 6500 4.5-30x50 and can't recommend it enough.

Given you're shooting ranges, that zoom may be well more than you're after, but it comes in a 2.5-16x50 version also which you might prefer.

Check out the 2.5-16x50 IMO.

Not sure that will be of much help to you, sorry Aussier.

A bit overkill for a "just for fun" .22 ;)

You could also check out the Nikon Monarch series or Meopta.

The Meopta rifles scopes are pretty good. European glass without the fancy price tag.
