Smart targeting rifle - "The Gun That Aims Itself"

Just finished watching this video from Texas firearms company Tracking Point on their smart targeting rifle they make.

Watch the video, but the bullet points of their weapons system are:

  • Mark your target with a laser
  • Scope then adjust for wind, distance etc.
  • Can hold the trigger and rifle won't fire until you move over your mark on target to avoid fliching

That's the short version, but they had new shooters doing accurate 1,000m shooting on their first day shooter ever.

Fascinating stuff they can do with their technology now...

Fascinating tech indeed.

One of the comments rang true with me though, "If you could buy a golf club that always got a hole in one, who would play golf?"

I figured when watching that it would only mark a spot so only be good for stationary targets, seeing it track that moving white target was pretty impressive.

Yeah, me too.

Bit afraid to know what one would cost though lol. I reckon that alone will prevent me from ever having one.
