Broken shotty = no rabbit dinner

Post by Lorgar » 19 Oct 2014, 7:47 am

Went to a property with a pair of friends yesterday to catch some bunnies for dinner with a mates shotgun.

Tried and true, hundreds of rounds through it. First shot... Nothing.

Open it up and the firing pin has snapped :|

Still cleared out a few bunnies from the property, but no one had a .22 and we were shooting with 7mm and 8mm mausers. Obviously nothing left.

Had to settle for Macca's on the way home.

Just another reason to buy my own shotgun really :D

An old single barrel Beretta, nothing special.

No less irritating to have it break out of the bag though

So you buy your own shotgun, the firing pin will break when it wants to, your shotgun or his.

I've never been into shotguns in the past, I'm coming around though ;)

There have been a few posts on cheap choices here lately... I've gotta get down and look at a few Boito and Stoeger shotguns I think.

Beavertail stock on it at the moment so studs for a sling. I ain't carrying that around all day

They make a sporter stock for it though, I need to get one of those at some point to switch to if I'm going for rabbits.

The Hog Stopper definitely appeals... The price not so much, not for what I want it for anyway.

If the right second hand one came up I might jump on it though.

Ive been wanting a shotgun for ages... Last one I had was stolen in the stealback ( still miss it ). Ive been looking at the AKKAR CHURCHILL 12G comes with 20" & 30" barrels. 30" for a little more of a pattern at range and 20" for going through the scrub after goats & pork. NEW $1195 at the moment :)

The Stoeger Coach Gun Deluxe is only about $600 new.

Blued, timber. Not a masterpiece but ok for some fun.

You said in another topic you wanted a coach gun maybe I think, Lorgar?
