Bushnell Trophy XLT

Post by iwaslike » 18 Nov 2014, 6:35 pm

Hi guys,

Looking for a new scope for a new varmint rifle. (not bought yet but thinking .222 or 22-250, something like it)

Bushnell Trophy XLT in 6-18x50mm is what I'm looking at for top of the list at the moment, specs seem good for price.

My LGS only had the 2-6x32mm model in stock, build seems good and the glass. Not the exact one though so you dunno if something's different on the other model.

Anyone used this? Or the line of scopes? Thanks.

The only Bushnell scope that I'd call "bad" is their Banner model.

Bottom of the line... And shows. Almost seems like its completely separate to the rest of the higher models which are all of good quality.

They aren't argon purged or have the same coatings as the higher end stuff, but they're still waterproof and rugged. And the glass is decent.

I'd say they're decent for the money, about $400 - $450 if I remember right?

Not amazing glass but you can't have everything.

You could get a 4x12 Leupold VX-2 for something a bit sharper. Less magnification but I think the clarity would balance it for you. $150 more though.

Look at some of the Meopta rifle scopes as well. A bit better quality for the same money as some other in some of their lines.

This is about the ceiling on price for me which is what finally landed me on it.

Spending an extra $150 isn't going to work at the moment.

I'm pretty sold on it it. Going to have one last call around to see if someone has one in stock for a look otherwise I think I will just order.

Yeah fair enough mate.

You have to draw the line somewhere.

Just throwing out a few options. :)
