Hi all,
Can anyone answer my question with regard to, Hi-Lux 3-9 x 40 BC39x40IR scope ?

Who knows what the little cap (under the logo) is for ?

It is most likely the erector tube spring housing.

Most scopes have two internal leaf springs but some have a single coil spring that can be replaced and some expensive scopes have multiple internal coil springs.

You would have to look up the specs on the scope to be sure. I think they may call it Tri centre coil spring tension.

They're an interesting group Hi-Lux.

They do some good looking modern scopes but also make new some vintage scopes like from the Vietnam war to seat on older rifles.

A guy I shoot with every Friday morning swears by his and they're not too expe$ive either

Hi there Mich,

To say Hi-Lux are an interesting mob is one thing,, but Optics Planet are a whole different animal.

I tried to email them to get more info seeing as they sell Hi-Lux scopes.

All I got was a return message saying that they "Do not sell or send to Australia"

Rather rude I thought, and if they do deal with Aus in the future... They just lost this little black duck as a customer.

Strange (and a bit rude, mmmm).

Scopes aren't prohibited from export under our ITAR, I don't see why they wouldn't want your business :unknown:
