I have to stop dreaming ....check out the range of Vortex scopes from http://www.extravision.com.au/catalog/index.php?cPath=36&sort=2a&filter_id=16 which are a good balance between cost and quality with a warranty unmatched by many others.

Close to the right scope wrong firearm... it's mounted on a .50 Cal Barrett.

The one you pictured is close to Stuart's own Tactical Rifle but not quite. This one is a Stolle.

These can be had for around $199, leaving a little left over for rings. If you're just shooting paper or fur @ 50m then the Bushnell seems to be a good balance of price vrs performance. The cheapest Leupold VX-1 is over your budget and I don't know much about most other brand scopes so cannot comment.

Basic Leupold, Bushnell, Redfield would all do.
