You talking about a trail cam you can leave around or a cam corder type one to carry around while shooting?

I remember night vision used to be a feature on every video camera.

Guess it's a gimmick now for most people... They don't do it in heaps of them these days :(

I've got a little Canon Legria HF R406

Fits in your hand, couple of hundred bucks.

Video quality is great IMO. And has 'night mode' which isn't green night vision, but works well in low light.

Camp fire setting or out under a full moon come up good.

Sony do an "Action Cam' series which has some water and shock resistance and all that.

Check them out IMO - http://www.sony.com.au/productcategory/cam-action-cam

I have an old Sony mini DV tape cam that's about 6-7 years old and still going strong.
