Question for those in the know with scope technical stuff...
I've got a basic Bushnell scope that I'm thinking of upgrading.
I've only really used 1" tubes in the past, no scopes with a 30mm tube. I've had a look out the door from my LGS, but that's not much of a test.
I don't know what the technical term is, so a crappy description is forthcoming...
Obviously when you move your head off-centre from a scope, you see the black edges. The further you're zoomed in, the quicker things black out...
Is this less of an issue with a 30mm tube? Is it easier to get a clear image and do you have to move further off-centre to start to see black or have it blackout?
Couldn't really say from a limited test in store, but by the time the lights been bent and magnified and whatever else, is there 'less' black in a 30mm tubed scope versus a 1" tubed scope?
Small gain? or just the same?
