Hi. Bought a Steel Tube Kahles 8x56 scope about 35 years ago.
Living in the Tropics it developed some fungus on the thick part of the heavy duplex, so just out of curiosity, I emailed Kahles in Austria, and asked them if they could recommend any one here in Australia, (as I didn't want to send it to just any one on the chance that they could stuff it up), to have a look at it. There response absolutely blew me away, received a very polite email saying send it over to them and they will fix it free of charge.
After all these years, who would have thought this would have been a response from a company that when I bought the scope didn't give a life time warranty.

So for the very low cost of fixing your scope they get a crap load of free advertising on the interweb and word of mouth that makes listeners and readers think that maybe these products aren't so expensive after all! :-)
There's still a few of Wile. E Coyote's ideas that I haven't tried yet.

( something most Aussie retailers know nothing about :problem: )

Read the fine print on what a "life time warranty" is these days, apparently "life" is about 2 years :problem:

False advertising in most cases IMO.

I ordered some sling swivels from Mialls in Melbourne. Well the gremlins went to work and the order was stuffed up. A phone call through and they replaced the wrong swivels with the right ones and..apology. They didn't charge me the extra for the 'right' ones or postage. Well done Mialls.!
the swivels are now part of my Lithgow X-ova.
