Dodgy scope picture

Post by NukeBOMB88 » 30 Apr 2016, 10:53 pm

G'day guys,
I've got a Bushnell Banner 6-24x40 rifle scope on my .30-06 and it's been great .

That is until I got it out of the safe today. Between last time I used it and now something's changed about it and it now always has that black ring around the sight picture like you have when your eyes in the wrong spot, but it's there all the time at 6x power but once over 10x it goes away.i haven't dropped or bumped the scope in any way since I used it last.

I'm stumped as to what's wrong and I hope someone can help me out with this.
Thanks

Edit: here's a picture of the problem

Can you make the black move by shaking/rattling it?

Make it increase, decrease, side to side?

Any indication something is loose?

The black doesn't move at all when I shake it, when I turn the magnification up to about 10x the ring goes away
