Gday I've put this second hand leupold vari x 3 1.5-5x20mm on my cz 550,only problem is the eye relief is slightly too short at 5x and I have to creep forward on the stock to get a clear picture. How far to the end of the scope can I move it backwards do you think ? The rings are as far back as they go so its the scope that has to move now.

Wm.Traynor wrote:Coincidentally, I have the same scope, only it's on a M70. The front ring is practically flush with the very front of the tube. I know a pic would be better but posting is not possible at present.
To be honest, I never gave it a second thought when mounting it. Maybe it is the wrong thing to do, long term but so far it's been OK
Good Luck

There are rings that will set your scope back....

Maybe if it has been fine with WM's, it is ok. I was just concerned about cracking the front lens.

I thought that is what I suggested.
