Bought the misses bushnell trophy XLT bone collector 10x42 for her birthday this year, I was impressed, pretty light but the glass is still nice and clear and low light performance was good. Came with a neck strap and case and rubber end caps, was about $250 I think.

Like scopes you won't get alot for a little bit these bushnell were about what I'd expect for the money. Might be worth looking at nikon, they had a few compact models but they didn't have a 10x42 at a comparable price point.

Cheers.

I have a pair of 10x42 Carson Caribou's in mossy oak camo that cost me sub $200 from memory on special from the big snake, they are good clear glass that have served me well in all sorts of weather on land and water, tight scrub to open fields, good bit of kit for the $$$.

you are looking to spend more than I did. But I have some Simmons 10x50 that were well under a hundred and I was stunned by the image quality. I don't even know why some companies bother to turn out bad glass anymore when others have obviously managed to get decent glass out on the cheap. They are certainly not $1500 binoculars, but when I was growing up anything inexpensive was garbage. Of course, I doubt they would survive being dropped off a cliff or anything, although they seem somewhat sturdy.

I bought a cheaper pair of Nikon binoculars. The eye relief adjusters broke the first time I tried to use them. Took them back to the gun shop I bought them from and ended coming home with a pair of Bushnel bone collector ones. Never had a problem with Bushnel stuff and seem pretty clear. Good value for money in my opinion.

$110 sounds incredibly cheap :o Nearly 30 years ago a tiny pair of 10 by about 25 mm Tasco cost me $100. They lasted 'til 2014.

The bushnell bone collector 8x42 arrived in the mail the other day. I got them for $130 from that link above and wow they are fantastic. Shipping took about 2.5-3 weeks but they are 100% genuine and I registered them at bushnell website. Only downside I can see so far is that if there was any warranty claim I'd have to ship them to the u.s

Vortex diamond 8x42 or 10x42, retail locally for $400 but you can get them from ebay USA delivered for $250, about to get myself a pair after reading many positive reviews and checking some out at a local store.

If you want good reviews of binos check out some of the bird watching forums, for value local garage sales I picked up a pair of Swarovski" opera"Idomeneo 8x20 Crystal Pocket Binocular for $40 and I also have a full size set of old Leopold gold line 8x40 which are terrific but a little bulky for os travel as well as weighty,so I recently picked up a set of leica trinovid 10x25 bc for a couple of hundred which are as good as the swaros.Bargins to be had out there.Believe I saw a set of the Leo gold line for sale in nsw gumtree for under a hundred recently.
