The bdc is handy only when the distance you are shooting is definetly known and i mean accurately cus if youre in the bush this is difficult those 350m shots are suddenly 235m when paced out yep it is that bad sometimes i do it all the time! Depending on the terrain it can be hard without carrying a rangefinder which are exxy and just something else you have to carry also a point to remember from memory i think they are only accurate on max magnification which on a 3-9 hunting scope is no good cus 9 power is too much 90%of the time so if its for hunting i would think twice, the ones i had the dots were too big and inder accurate placement on smaller stuff

I like having aiming marks for holdover compared to a clean reticle.

Assuming your load is a reasonable match for the holdover points of course.

Not always the case.

Totally irrelevant.
Instead of looking at the marks as 100m/yd increments, just work out what ranges they meet the load you're shooting.

It doesn't matter at all what spacing the dots are as long as you know what range they equate to with the load you're shooting.

I'm setting up a .243 currently for my brother which will involve working out the holdover ranges to suit the Bushnell .223 BDC.

Anyone tried a CM reticle?
Had me puzzled for a little while cause there's not a lot of info on the web about CM, plenty on Mil / MOA.
1cm = 0.1Mil @ 100m
10cm = 1 Mil @ 100m
Each click = 2.5mm or 4 clicks to the cm and 40 clicks to the Mil.
How's my posting?

What are the brands that make those, Brett??
Never heard of it but sounds extremely fine adjustment. Would be good for target work, I'm sure.

Schmidt & Bender PMII in 12-50x56, the elevation turret has 5 turns of adjustment !!. The longer the range the finer the adjustment you want and these are some of the finest adjustments available. Took a little getting used to but I've got them mastered now, got one on the .375 Cheytac as that's my first choice for distance and the other on the Flinchmaster 50.
