Spirit Levels on Scopes

Post by Yipikaye » 02 May 2017, 8:36 am

Hey Guys,

As a newbie to shooting I've found a few times when I'm off target its because my scope has not been level. This is either because i'm lying on a rock at the Anzac range, on a slight hill or just generally pretty fail. I imagine this will be worse when I'm walking around hunting until I get more experienced.

I'm considering getting a cheap spirit level attachment for the picatinny rail (they are like $5 on ebay).

A few questions:
1. Is a cheap spirit level worth it or should I get a more expensive one.
2. Are there better ways to judge level? I imagine this can be pretty hard in a valley on the side of a hill.
3. I already want a tac looking rifle, will this just make me look like a rent-a-cop

Just bought a little magnetic spirit level from a US company called Innovative Technologies. Hope it works as I have just used it to fit a new scope which I am sighting in tomorow. The magnet is so powerful it can be attached to the gun when being fired. Check it out on the net.
