Has anyone used the Leupold vx hogplex scope?
I bought a good secondhand rem 7600 308 which come with a Hogplex scope.
Sighted it in at the range no problem perfect.
Went out hunting, couldn't believe my eyes, about a dozen pigs running down a
fence towards me.Had 10 shot mag lowered the magnification waited till
they got within 50yards then let fly, hogs went everywhere.
When the dust settled,I quickly changed mags.
W.T.F  3 pigs that's it couldn't believe it,thought scope was broken but no it was all good.
Not the gun tried different scope no problem.
Happen to me a couple of times with this scope just don't seem to be able to get
my head around it.
Maybe put it on one of my shotguns and try it.
Has anyone had similar issues?,or am I institutionalized to much to cross-hairs...lol..

I think I have worked out the problem.
Read an article today about manufacturers crowding scope sights
like road maps, hard to navigate when the time arrives.
I have the earlier hogplex which some idiot at leupold thought it
would be good to remind people when you look through it
that it is a pig plex.
Big thick horizontal Reticle line either side of the scope with the words
PIG----------PLEX inscribed in it.
While good for still targets, very distracting for moving game.
Too crowded. Not a full field of view for moving targets.

Anyway.........I will go back and stand in the corner now... :problem:

Keep it simple, i say. That thing just looks confusing. When i look at it, my eye doesn't know where to look first. A simple illuminated dot, a central circle or something would be more effective for fast target acquisition, i think.

I've got the illuminated version on my 308 for hunting the thick stuff and I love it.
