Post by Stirlo » 03 Jun 2017, 6:59 pm

Hey guys so attempted making my first Night Vision Scope this last month or two. (mostly spent waiting for parts from china) here is a rough example of me testing it and what it looks like on the gun! Keen to give it a proper go foxing tomorrow night!

Youtube Example Video: https://youtu.be/u4GnviOUpc0

Check Attachment for what setup looks like on rifle!

Gday Stirlo.

Im sure there more than a few of us interested in how this works out. Would like to see a break down of the parts ordered and improvements you could / would make after you field test.

Gday knowsnothin!

Will happy post a detailed breakdown tomorrow night about how it works basic rundown is inside the plumbing fittings is a small camera that feeds the image to the screen. being that it is a security camera it can be set to pickup Infared Light automatically. System can be used during the day and the screen will show in full colour what is being seen through the scope (however battery will drain fast due to lighting/colour et..) when used at night even in the pitch black, with a Infared Torch. The IR beam is invisible to human eyes and thankfully the animals but the camera picks it up. Perfect for people like me who want to sit in the dark and fox whistle without using a spotlight beam and scaring away foxes.

Hows it go at say 200m-300m+? Only other problem I see is the light coming from the screen reflecting on your face lighting you up

I dont think a bit of reflected light is going to be an issue. We have whistled up foxes to 30 metres with the car headlights on and a radio playing. It looks like the rifle is .22LR About 70m is about max for a clean fox kill.I am going to start a post on distances

Nice one. Looks tidy, what are you using to attach the battery to the rifle for mobility?

I did this myself a bit over a year ago:

It'll shoot the fleas off a dog's back at five hundred yards, Tannen, and it's pointed straight at your head!
