Reflex sight suggestions

Post by Oldbloke » 16 Oct 2017, 7:25 pm

I want to fit a reflex on my single barrel 12g. Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced unit. Use will be occasional only.

I've got a sig sauer romeo 5 on my bolt action 12g, more of a micro red rot design rather than a reflex, but copes with sun and abuse a little better i reckon, almost got a vortex venom or razor, still might one day

G'Day Fella's,

Old bloke, here is a link I posted else where on this forum, that may be of interest/use to you?

Personally, I found that anything other than the original/conventional Bead sight/s, actually slows me down on shotguns.

Hope that helps

I've just got a $20 red dot on my 45-70, that held up pretty well to continuous abuse of 2 boxes worth of factory ammo. eBay. I also got a reflex sight that's mounted on my Adler, believe it was around the $20 as well. Nothing special. It has potential, but I haven't tested it yet. Will let you know or if I get my roll crimper in time, you can try it out yourself...

Seems like those budget red dots and reflex sights do alright, based on my 45-70 experience and buyers' feedback.

Yep I bought a $25 reflex to try on my old 12g. Currently having it fitted by the son in law.

Hey, OB this is a mount for my 12g U/O - got it from Cabela's. It fits over the rib and held by 2 plates and the sight can be moved along for eye relief.....

He, your a but late. I looked for weeks and couldn't find anything. But got it worked out now he is making an adaptor that clamps on to the rib and a weaver mount screws to that. I'll post a pic. He's making it over Xmas.

But thanks. Would have got one but going with plan b now.
