Nikon Monarch vs Prostaff scopes

Post by remnt » 19 Dec 2013, 9:20 am

Hi guys,

Looking for some feedback from anyone who has used the Nikon Monarch and Prostaff scopes.

I had a squiz through both this morning at my local and couldn't see much of a difference given the extra cost of the Monarch.

Opinions on these two?

Worth the extra coin for the Monarch for something I'm missing?

I can't provide feedback on the Nikon scopes, but I'd say this is your answer.

I'm sure there is some technical fancy-pants difference between them, but if you can't tell the different what are you paying for?

Just my thoughts anyway...

Nothing wrong with the Prostaff at all IMO.

Easy on the purse as well.

On topic though...

It's been a while since I got mine, but I went with the Monarch for my .270 and love it.

In the end I went with the Monarch as it just felt a little better in my hands.

They also have spring loaded reset turrent which I'm pretty sure the others don't? And the coating is a little different/better.

Not exactly game-changing features, but they're something. Either way, I went with it as I will likely only ever have the one scope and since it will last me for years to come I spent the little extra.

Up to you...
