Cant get the search to work.
Any one any experience with target cameras?
Getting sick of driving back and forth to see the shots when trying to get on target at longer range.

how savvy are you with phones

hook one of your old phones as a view camera and view on a phone near you over Bluetooth or wifi

It depends on what distance if that is going to work. Bluetooth is going to crap out at 25m. If you are in a reception zone and both have sims you could use any of the apps like skype. To buy a camera setup you may as well buy an upgrade to your scope. or even a electronic target system silver mountain have a cheap one for about $1k

I have a home made one that I use out to 700 yards
very helpful at that distance
it is a security camera that transmits back to a tablet type thingy ( I'm not much good with the electronics I'm afraid, but I can shoot  )
the maker used a baked beans can for an ariel that works very well, only cost a couple of hundy I think or cheaper

I would make one not buy one

Marksman, what/how do you power it? And how long does the power source last?

copying from the book
"the armoured camera assembly has a rechargeable Li-ion battery with a nominal 15AH capacity. the 5v camera draws 1A so fully charged it should last 15 hours

you can see the battery on the bottom of the shield type thing, it only needed the metal shield because of the idiots at the range trying to shoot the camera
my setup is 4 years old now and you should be able to get much better now for cheaper
the tablet is good but needs shadow to see it properly

I'm actually waiting for the hardware to land, for DIY target cam. I haven't thought about power options however, hence asking. Hoping it arrives this week actually, should be interesting.

Cheers

What about an entry level telescope? I've got a 20-60 x telescope I use for that sort of thing. Set up on the edge of a table/shootung bench it works a treat.

Mirage can be a but of an issue on hot days, having it up off the ground helps.

Click on products on the top line, then select the model from the drop down box. The prices are there. Basic 200 meter one $199.

I just had a look at the "basic" unit on offer from Australian Precision for $199 and the description says:
"The effective range of wireless transmission in ideal conditions for mobile devices is approximately 100m depending on environmental factors"

I have cheap scopes that can see a .223 hole at that range, seems rather pointless if a $200 camera setup only gives you 100m when the $299 standard will do 500m

Just like the 2nd hand car yards used to do, advertise crazy cheap deals, then when you turn up it's "well that one's gone, but we have this one for only twice that price"
