Well surprise surprise, something that seemed a little good to be true turned out to be just that,
Although listed as having a 12MP CCD sensor, when it arrived today the first thing I looked at was the specs printed on the side of the box, and lo and behold, the "12MP HD" camera has a 3MP sensor.
The confusion (bullshyte) continues on the 5th line where they claim you can take pics at 8MP, 5MP or 3MP resolution.
I'm no CCD expert by any means, but I do know you can take lower resolution shots with a high MP sensor, but I can't for the life of me see how you can take an 8MP shot with a 3MP sensor. Where are all the extra Pixies supposed to come from?
There was no memory card included either, but for $60 that's not a big issue. The fact that it is only capable of 25% of the claimed resolution is.
I wrote to them and did a Pauline asking them to "please explain".
I've never used or even handled one of these before, but the full second it claimed for the motion sensor to respond also seems a little slow.
I'm going to hold off testing it out until I get a response in case they dig their heels in and I have to sic the ebay hounds on them for a refund.
