Sig Sauer MPX K PSB Legality Queensland

Hi all,

Does any one have extensive legal knowledge to whether this product is legal: https://www.sigsauer.com/store/sig-mpx-k-psb.html

From what I understand to classify as a handgun (Category H) a firearm must:

- be over 120mm in length
- be under 750 mm in length
- have a magazine capacity of no more than 10 rounds
- must be Semi Auto

This Firearm fits the description of all categories aside from the 30rd magazine WHICH CAN BE REPLACED WITH A 10RD MAGAZINE.
It is also not much more different to the Ruger Charger Archangel and Micro Roni carbine conversion kits we have legal in Queensland at the moment.
It also is not similar to any military weapon on the market like the Riverman OAF was.
Can anyone help me?

Thanks,

The description says it has a 4.5" barrel so that would be a no then.

Why is that a no?
Handgun barrel length in QLD must be greater than 100mm and less than 120mm
4.5 inchs is 114.3mm.
That falls between the requirements

That's not correct,
semi auto barrel length must be minimum 120mm unless the overall firearm length is greater than 250mm
revolver barrel length must be min 100mm unless overall length of firearm is greater than 250mm

You might slip a pta through weapons licensing like some people did with the short wedgetails, but like the wedgetails weapons lic will catch on and then make you surrender it without any compensation. People paid $5000 for the wedgetails and now are apparently being forced to hand them in.
5K down the drain and a headache with licensing branch.....not my idea of a good day. IMO that sig is a useless gun anyway unless you want to be rambo or a gangstar.

No. The requirements for handgun barrel length is 100mm minimum for revolver and 120mm for semi-autos.

Besides having too short of a barrel the MP-X would never be able to be imported due to its appearance. No different to every other pistol calibre carbine, AR-15 pistol or MP5 anyone else has dreamed of importing.
