Scenario - Beretta 92FS mod- what would you do?

Post by Jarhead » 23 Jul 2020, 6:40 pm

Hi!

If you found yourself with a new (or used - but new to you) Beretta 92FS, and could do only one mod to it, what would you modify and why?
Regards,

Jarhead

Theres a couple of quick replacements for original manufacturers parts that wull have your Berretta shooting like a laser.

Replace slide for Glock slide
Replace frame for Glock frame
Replace barrel for Glock barrel
Replace sights for Glock sights
Replace magazine for Glock magazine.

Load and fire

Hahahaha... Ive been waiting all day to drop that one

This suggestion might start a string of interesting replies but take the Beretta and all the replacement Glock bits and throw them down a deep well - go buy a revolver. If you must have a 9mm then the Kimber Target II would be the starting level.

Do not listen to the Glock guy.

I have one and I hate it. I hated it stock and I hate it with a full trigger kit and reflex optic. I seriously despise it, I just see it as wasted money. If it wasn't worth less than $700 as a trade in I would have ditched it years ago.

My Beretta on the other hand is amazing. Mine is an A3, but just install an adjustable sight and have fun. Such a satisfying gun to shoot.

Aesthetically I prefer the straight dustcover to the slant.

Glocks are a great tool, but there are nicer guns to shoot. Would I ever spend money to 'race' one out, that would be just foolish.

Well,

I bought a Beretta 92X Performance. It already has all of the upgraded bits on it. Arrives soon! Hopefully the PTA and the pistol arrive on the same day......

For me I would do a steel guide rod to replace the polymer one. Either that or an LTT RDO Optic Cut.

I have a 92FS and also a Kimber in different calibers.
The 92FS is a lot of fun to shoot. Not a bad pistol. To be a comp gun would require some mods.
The Kimber straight out of the box is amazing. Great trigger. accurate. If I had the cash, I would have more of them.
I would love a Korth...but I would need a third mortgage on the house
