Lovex pistol powder shipment

For those not familiar with the lovex powders, there are burn rate charts available but most dont have ADI or Lovex columns on the one chart

Rough estimates

D032 is a fast burner, they say slower than red dot, faster than Win231/Hp38, they put it on the line with International clays which is ADI AS-50N, so around Ap-450 as well.

D036 is listed right alongside Unique and Universal (which is Ap-70) so thats the classic mid -burner.

D037.1 is listed alongside longshot and Vihta N350 so like blue dot its probably a light-magnum or almost-magnum powder. No ADI equivalent , closest would be saying between the old AP-100 and 2205 somewhere. Should be still decent power for the 357 and 44mag guys.

I ordered 1kg of the DO36 as I'm getting low on Unique. It's my primary powder for 45 Schoffield and Colt loads.

I heard bronze wing might be bringing in noble/vectan powders. the local gunstore said the shotgun shooters had been pushing for it and they have an entire container on the water so should be several tons worth.

Hopefully customers wont be required to buy $500 of other stock off them to claim a pound of powder.

Tigershark make pistol bullets. With no powders or primers for pistols they would have been selling very few bullets for the past two years.
They need to profit to stay in business, if they had folded they wouldn't have been there to import powder at all.
I don't need powders but I don't have a problem with them trying to make a decent profit out of the financial risk they took on this, the alternative might be to simply sell the powder for $350/500gm without bullets. And pistol shooters use a lot of bullets so it's not a bad thing having more of them.

Bronzewing make shotgun ammo, for which I haven't heard of any shortage. If anything they may have increased sales as pistol shooters have bought shotshells to scavenge powder out of, and perhaps other pistol shooters that switched to clay shooting because they couldn't shoot pistols have also increased sales.

As it turns out, Tigershark don't make the projectiles but are just importers and distributers of LOS projectiles from Europe ( https://www.los.si/en/home/ )

So it's most likely just one guy in his shed running things, if that is the case the logistics of distributing 900 bottles of powder and 900,000 projectiles is going to be a challenge, I hope nobody is in too much of a hurry.

There is a shortage of some types of shotgun ammo, mostly heavy field( 3 and 3.5"), buckshot, slugs, also the lesser used gauges Some shotgunners like reloading tthe heavier stuff too.Talked to a fella who called Bronze wing. Apparently they were asking for expressions of interest from gun stores regards this container of powder coming in. Whether said container is likely to arrive soon or become like the mythical missing alliant container is the thing.

I don't think the exotic stuff has ever been held in large stock, at least not around here. I imagine slugs and buck would be more common in certain regions, like northern Qld. If you want that sort of stuff you'd order it rather than expect to find it on a shelf. I bought one box of 10rds of 12ga. 000 Buck some years ago when I needed some balls for barrel slugging, and I bought a couple boxes of .410 slugs when I was a kid. Otherwise I only buy bulk field loads, generally 2-3/4" 7-1/2 field loads. Anything that costs over $100/250rds is of no interest to me. If I want BB's, #4, #9, 00-buck, or slugs I just modify the field loads to suit my requirements.

A lot of the stuff is unavailable period. All the major distributors are out. Massive backorders on the system. Difficult to get components as well.

The making stopped a few years ago when their factory got raided and they got smacked with a heap of fines and lost the permits required to load ammunition.
All their stuff is imported from Italy.

Apparently, some of the Lovex powder is due to arrive at Q-Store today and those on the list will be called to come and collect.

I wonder if they will have enough projectiles or will need to place some huge back orders.

$120 per 500g tub.

I'm still waiting for a call about my pre-order but some people are turning up at Q-Store and just buying powder with no projectiles.
I suspect that each of those purchases is one less person that will ever get their pre-order

Okay, not too outrageous then, about double what we were paying for ADI pre-covid.

Yeah, that would suck if that happens.

Off topic. But seems a good spot.

Powder in NZ is $50.00 nzd for 500gram. ($45.00 aud)

Makes you wonder being a tiny market and what we are paying here.
My local was $135.00 1kg (ar2208) last time I asked.

All of those powders are listed as "out of stock" though, they may be pre-covid prices. When they get fresh stock the prices may well be double those.

Yeah, I think our standard prices are going to be $140/kg now for ADI, if you can find it for less I think you're doing well.

Old stock and new stock perhaps? AR2208 has been in production the entire time.
$149 is steep but that's what I was just quoted as well (I was ordering a case of .22LR so I asked about the powder).

The three main gun stores in Brisbane have 1Kg AR2208 for $109, $120 and $139

Seems to be within the normal range of variation, some stores have to set prices based on the volumes that they turn over and others can run with very low profit on some lines to get customers in and buying.

$115 new stock, just arrived, hadn't unboxed it yet (invoice?) so he wasn't 100% sure that's correct.
$149 none in stock, call next week

I don't need any but if i drive past next week and its $115 Ill grab 1kg. For justin.

Yep, still $115. Grabbed 1kg. That's 2kg in stock. Will last me till I'm 80. Lol

Interestingly, same price i paid almost 3 years ago

Hahaha

Someone should have gone to Specsavers.

Looking around a few other shops the price is about $89nzd for 500g and $169 for 1kg if they have it in stock.

This statement just confirms your an idiot. The price I quotes was correct when I spotted it on the web site. It was very clear.
Just if you click on the product it was indicated as OOS. I didn't shop around in NZ as I live in AU. It has SFA about my eyesight.

Go back to feeding the chooks. Your better suited to that. Why are you here? You arn't even a shooter.

From what I understand, if you were an existing TigerShark customer, you got the option on the first order. I bought 2 tubes of DO36 (Unique alternative). The next order may be open to general purchase.
