NSW PPL timing

Post by Garyc » 27 Jul 2022, 8:42 pm

Hi all. I just received my PPL photo card in the mail. A few questions related to timing if I may:

- what is the issue date as mine just has an expiry date of Sept 23?
- so when does the ‘first six months expire?
- then when can I submit my firs PTA?
- and finally when can I submit my request for a full H license?

Thanks in advance

Check online, NSW police website, will show the issue date
Six months is from the issue date, need to do some paperwork and get signed off from your club first
First PTA @ 6 months if your paperwork is all done
Full H application at the expiry of your PPL which is longer than a year from memory, you can still shoot until they process it.

Garyc,
How long was the process for you from joining a club to getting your PPL? Just starting the process myself in NSW.

Once you are accepted by the club and get your safe handling certificate you should get you PPL within 6 weeks ie 4 week mandatory wait + 2 weeks processing.
