Serial number with PTA

Hi all,
Do you need to supply handgun serial number and year of manufacture with PTA application? My dealer says I don't need to. I ordered gun from interstate and I could save some time by just submitting without serial number.

You need to state period of manufacture, ie: pre-1947 or post, but not the specific year. You will need to state the serial number on the application, the instructions state "You must complete all firearm details to assist Licensing & Regulation Division to correctly identify the handgun", they have rejected an application from me in the past for not including the serial number. Your Dealer MAY be technically correct, but LRD will most likely reject you and it will certainly take longer to process your PTA.

In Tasmania you can leave this blank.

We have one centre fire one 22LR/airgun rules for new pistol shooters.
