Hammerli Master Air Pistol

Post by Baldrick314 » 23 Jan 2016, 8:00 am

Got myself a bargain at the range the other day. One of the blokes I shoot with wanted to get rid of his air pistol so I asked how much he wanted for it thinking I could probably use some cheap trigger time if the price is right. His reply "I just want it gone." I assumed there had to be something wrong with it so asked a few questions but no it's in full working order he just doesn't use it.

I sent off my PTA that day, about a month later I've for an air pistol for the grand total of $30 8-)

From what I've read this was one of the first CO2 powered pistols to hit the market and was quite popular in its time. Otherwise I know nothing about it and have fired only one shot through it. I've heard that shooting air pistol is one of the best training tools there is because your trigger control and follow through are critical to the shot landing where you aimed it. Hopefully a bit of practice with this will see my other scores improve

For 30 bucks that's a pretty decent air pistol.

Any idea what FPS you'll get on it?

Not sure. I'll put it over the chrono first chance I get and report back

Average of 5 shots measured about 2m from the muzzle was 426fps. The CO2 cartridge I was using had only had about 6 shots out of it before I started measuring velocities so that should be pretty indicative of the top velocity of the pistol
