Lane splitting gone wrong

Post by Wobble » 20 Mar 2015, 5:26 pm

Saw a guy go down like a sack of s**t this arvo when his lane splitting went wrong.

60 zone and seemed like he was going about that through the stopped cars before a red light.

Misjudged something and hit a mirror with his handle bar, not sure if the brake handle gripped or was just the shock but he dropped face first into the tarmac followed by a bit of a slide.

Had the helmet but obviously shaken, took him a good 30 seconds to get up.

Food for thought fellow 2 wheelers.

I had a guy smash my mirror on my work van last week. I'm all for lane splitting as I ride too, but it should only happen when it's safe and there's enough room, now it seams to be everyone is going for the smallest gap and completely doing whatever the feel like (in Brisbane at least)

Drivers put riders at risk often enough but he can't blame anyone else for that one.
