1 in 674 under the influence of alcohol

Post by RealNick » 17 Apr 2015, 8:34 am

Figure from ABC on the long weekend just gone by here in Victoria with booze buses and traps all set up.

Just 1 in 674 drivers, 0.14% of people doing the wrong thing.

Good example I thought of how much LAFO are put out due to laws targeting the tiny doing the wrong thing.

Segway into what we have to do for our licenses, I don't know a number but I think the % must be less.

I wonder what proportion of the 673 were high on another drug??.... (are they drug testing all RBTs now??)

It does demonstrate how 99.9% are people (673/674) are detained by the law on (false) suspicion.....

Because like so many other things these days it's every citizen is a potential criminal.
Because saving one “whatever from harm” is worth inconveniencing every other living person on the planet (and extracting money from them if at all possible :sarcasm: )
There's always room for at least one more gun in my safe.
There's always room for one more safe in my house.

As far as I know only at the ones with the whole 9 yards bus and portable lab.

Not when it's done only with the in-car equipment.

It would be even more interesting to know how many of those 1 in 674 was only low-range and how many were actually "drunk".

The law is what it is, 0.02 BAC limit, but if someone blew a 0.021 I personally wouldn't hold anything against them.

How many high-range cases where people actually represented a danger to other drivers I wonder.

1 in thousands?

I think you've got something mixed up with P player limits or I don't know what... It's 0.05.

Speaking of under the influence, my friend in the states says don't drive on the 20th of April where he lives. All these idiots that are stoned drive to 7/11 to get Doritoes and MTNDEW. I know a lot of people that drive high. When I ask them why the hell they do it they ask if I drink, When I reply with yeah I have a scotch every couples of months and on special occasions. They then proceed to berate me and tell me how bad and addictive alcohol is and how good weed is for you and that they could quit any time they want (but never do and complain when they haven't smoked in a day). I'm not having a go at any stoners on here I don't care if people smoke weed or drink.

Colorado right?

The 420 movement there I'd guess.

Yep, he lives in Gunbarrel. Although he was saying a fair few people in Colorado aren't fans of legalized weed.
