Do you need a wheel alignment after a suspension lift?

I'm not sure where this plays into alignment exactly, but do you need a fresh wheel alignment after a lift?

I've always believed a good rule of thumb is whenever you touch anything on the suspension, get an alignment. Your current alignment is set for the current components so changing anything could affect camber, caster and/or toe quite a bit. And just tightening and loosening bits can cause changes

Yes is the answer - you've changed the geometry to some degree so things will need adjusting to suit.

I had a thought and the exception is any of the live front axle vehicles where a lift may make the steering wheel crooked but the alignment doesn't change.
