Rock crawling lights

Post by huccl » 05 Dec 2017, 12:54 pm

I hadn't seen these before in a 4WD context, only neons on fully sick street racers

Obvious when you think about it, but would make crawling down a track somewhere when the suns fading a ****** safer.

Great addition I reckon.

I don't mind the odd night 4x4 shrub sesh but any track that needs lights so your spotter can see which part of your chassis is tradin' paint is bad juju at night in my books, pretty popular on the " look at me " rigs these days

Depends how you install them I reckon.

If they're angled outward I can see the benefit, been in a few spots myself at dusk and would have found that handy.

If they're straight down though I'd agree it's useless bling.

You might have your head hanging out the window to see the front quarter.

I admit though they do look about half functional and half 'fully sick bro'

Good if you've got a spotter outside guiding you.

IMO thought if it's that dark why are you four-wheeling? Go when it's light/safe.

Just put some LED's in ya headlights and put a light bar on and you will be able to see everything in front of you no worries at all.

+1 for that.

I've got caught out one and we had to 4wd out of the bush at the end of dusk. It was kind of freaky rocky around without being able to see anything around you.

Having build and driven dedicated rock crawler 4x4's these setup are common on comp trucks and the such. There are a number of comps or social events that include night stages. If you've ever driven rock fields, scaled walls or anything that requires very specific wheel placement then you need to see it!
