Unoccupied crown land in Victoria

Post by whert » 11 Mar 2014, 5:34 pm

Hi guys,

Can some Victorian shooters tell me, as far as hunting and shooting spots go is their any "unoccupied crown land" in Victoria other than state forests?

What other kind of crown land is there that's unoccupied :?

Thanks.

A great deal of the crown land is unoccupied, that is, not covered by a lease or license. All the parks, forests and reserves land would also be described as crown/unoccupied/unalienated but generally if you find STATE FOREST, you can shoot there.

Note that the a lot of SF is covered by forestry operations and as such 'public safety zones' exist - you CAN be removed from these areas of SF. Theres a map explorer online that shows where the SF are and also the PSZs.

There are limited areas of Nat Park to shoot in too... Sorry residents north and west of VIC....

Check out this if you didn't know about it already.

Interactive Victorian Forest Maps.

You can turn on the legend which shows all the various zones and that stuff.

Thanks, there is plenty of state forest around to shoot in obviously, I wondered if there were any other places to check out but it looks like with those maps anywhere I'd want to go is state forest anyway so it's all good.

Cheers.
