You might have heard on the radio or internet or where ever that they recently discovered a new dinosaur that's been dubbed the "chicken from hell".

Just to clarify, it's a 12 foot dinosaur, not actually a chicken in any way shape or form... Just a nick name... Big ass lizard dinosaur... Anyway...

So they're talking on the radio and get to the subject of what it would have tasted like, and this women is explaining that it would have tasted like chicken. Her logic included things like 'most birds we eat taste like chicken' and my personal favourite 'crocodile tastes like fishy chicken'.

Where the hell are these people eating all the time that "everything" tastes like chicken?

Anyone who's eaten duck, turkey and chicken will tell you they're completely different. Crocodile doesn't taste like chicken, and it sure as hell doesn't taste like fish.

I swear half the human races sense of taste is broken. You know the only thing that tastes like chicken? Chicken!

I have no idea how some farms or wherever it is that does these abominations makes chicken taste so bad/nothing.

I got a chook once from one of the big chain supermarkets. The "meat" was like a flabby blob of chicken that had somehow soaked up half it's weight in water and tasted like... I don't know what... Salty fake chicken taste like on chips?

Awful whatever the hell they had done to it.

No surprise the meat has no substance after the poor critters are locked in those battery cages and unable to move their entire lives.

Actually meat chickens are not kept cages, generally they are housed in large barns regardless if they are labeled as organic or free range or not

All I can tell you is I have seen documentaries and photos of chickens raised in cages for meat. Might have been in the US but it's happening somewhere.

Gotta say though, the deer I've consumed in Europe has an unique flavour from the pine needles they feed on, it some how takes some of the un-farmed fed on grain flavour that our free range quarry can take on,

But I still love that grass fed wild free range aroma that comes from a nice red spiker taken from the hills near my farm.

Croc can have the texture of an over cooked boiler chook, but no way has it the same flavour, odour or feel.

Just had to throw in my 10c worth.

The only thing I've found that actually tastes like chicken, and isn't chicken, is those metallic cans of tuna in sweet chilli flavour, and only the ones from Aldi. It's not fishy AT ALL, and tastes quite similar to barbecue chicken breast soaked in sweet chilli sauce!
